Kerala Boondi Mixture.

My dads favorite crunching snack is this kerala mixture so when I made this he liked it so much that he asked me to make it some more and store, he even suggested me to add some more things. Here I post to you a very yummy and all time favorite mixture.
Now this recipe is quick and easy I will be including the much more elaborated versions in my future posts.


Ingredients for Boondi:

  1. Gram Flour/Besan  --  1 cup
  2. Turmeric powder  --  1 tsp
  3. Chilli Powder  --  1 tsp
  4. Asafoetida  --  a nice pinch
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Water for batter
  7. Oil to deep fry

Small Hole Stapula for making boondi.

Method:
  • Make the batter withe all the above ingredients and make it a little loose.
  • Heat the oil nicely and then pour the batter over small hole stapula to make boondi.
  • Fry the boondi till they are crisp and make nice crispy noise while frying.
  • Remove it and keep aside.

Ingredients for Mixture:
  1. Boondi  --  3 cups
  2. Curry Leaves  --  1/2 cup
  3. Peanut  --  1/2 cup
  4. Chilli Powder  --  1 tsp
  5. Salt to taste.
  6. Oil  --  1 tablespoon.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a wok add curry leave, peanuts and saute well.
  • When the peanuts are correctly done add the chilli powder and just half a teaspoon salt and switch off the gas without delay.
  • Add this tempering to the boondi and mix well. Let it cool and store in airtight container.
