Chocolate Cake

I know this is every ones favourite recipe! That soft cake with melting chocolate frosting will surely make your mouth watering! Why don't you try it at home... Its really easy and hardly needs any effort... I made this in microwave oven...




Ingredients for Cake
  1. Maida/All Purpose Flour  --  1 cup
  2. Cocoa Powder   --  2 tablespoon
  3. Eggs  --  2
  4. Sugar  --  1 cup
  5. 1/2 cup Oil
  6. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  7. Salt a pinch






Ingredients to make the cake moist
  1. Instant Coffee Powder  --  1tsp
  2. Water 1 cup
  3. Sugar  --  1tsp
Ingredients for frosting
  1. Icing Sugar  --  1 and half cup
  2. 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  3. 50 gms butter kept in room temperature.

Method:
  • Sieve together the flour, cocoa powder and then baking powder in a bowl.
  • In a separate bowl beat together eggs, sugar, salt and oil. You can do this in a mixer.
  • Now add the vanilla essence and beat well.
  • Slowly add the flour mixture and fold in. Do not stir vigorously. Fold in the flour slowly without any lumps.
  • Preheat the microwave oven for 3 minutes
  • Now grease the microwave safe dish with some oil and sprinkle flour round the safe dish.
  • Now pour the batter in the microwave safe dish and bake it for about 5 min. Do check after 3 minutes.
  • My was ready within 4 min.
  • Let the cake cool naturally in the oven itself.
  • Lets make the frosting. Before that Boil the 1 cup water with sugar and instant coffee powder and keep aside to cool.
  • Now Sieve cocoa powder kept for frosting with icing sugar/powdered sugar into bowl.
  • Chop butter into small pieces and add to that bowl.
  • Add one tablespoon of hot water and mix it well till smooth glossy paste.
  • Remove the cake from the safe dish and slice it from centre into two. Now you have two round cakes in front of you.
  • Now sprinkle some coffee over both the cake to make it moist.
  • Now add some frosting and level it in one half of the cake.
  • Keep the other half over it and spread the frosting over the cake evenly.
  • Cool the cake in before serving
  • I had sprinkled some grated chocolate over the cake for garnishing..
