Dosa

I wonder being a South Indian why was I so late to post this recipe... actually it should be one of my earlier posts anyways its never late... I am posting this world famous breakfast or lunch or dinner whenever you love to have it... its jut superb simple and so delicious that I'm sure that all Indians would have tasted this lovely dish atleast once in their lives.

Ingredients:

  • Parboiled Rice  --  1 glass
  • Jeera Rice  --  1 glass  (a type of small thin rice)
  • Urad Dal  --  3/4th glass
  • Fenugreek Seeds  --  1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to grease
Method:
  1. First soak the parboiled rice, jeera rice and urad dal in one vessel and urad dal in another vessel for about 8-10 hours.
  2. Now nicely rise the urad dal in running water for 2-3 times and grind it to fine paste adding little water at a time.
  3. Repeat the third step with the soaked rice and combine the dal and rice in one vessel.
  4. Keep it to ferment or you can keep it in refrigerator. Then later at early morning take some of the batter as per your requirement add some salt and water to make it dosa consistency.
  5. Now heat a dosa tawa and grease a little oil using a clean cloth and pour a handful of dosa batter to it give it a round shape and flip it over other side when its done.
  6. Serve it hot with coconut chutney, onion chutney, sambar or any other chutneys.
  7. Enjoy!!!
