Onion Uthappam

I usually make this on sundays... because it takes a little time to chop the veggies and its really tasty when had directly from pan to plate... You can add any vegetables to it but we usually add onions, tomatoes and some herbs to it... This colorful dosa is favorite of each one of us and specially kids would love it even in their lunch boxes so I know you would love it and try it...

Ingredients:

  1. Dosa Batter  --  as per your requirement(say for 4-5 people)
  2. Onions  --  2 medium chopped finely
  3. Tomatoes  --  2 medium chopped finely
  4. Green Chillies  --  2-3 chopped finely
  5. Chopped Curry Leaves  --   few twigs
  6. Chopped Coriander Leaves  --  few twigs
  7. Sesame Oil to grease dosa pan
  8. Ghee/Clarified Butter  --  to roast
  9. Salt to taste

Method:
  • First heat the dosa pan and grease it with a drop of sesame oil.
  • Now put a nice handful of batter in the tawa and make a little thick dosa pan cakes and sprinkle some onion chopped, some tomatoes, little green chillies, coriander and curry leaves.
  • Keep the flame low and then add some ghee around the dosa and let it roast and then turn it over and roast for some time.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney and red tomato chutney.
