Mixed Fruit Jam

Its been long time since I'm thinking to prepare jam at home this winter its perfect time siance you get all the fruits that is used to make jam. No artificial colours or flavors or preservatives are required for our home made jam. Just plain fruit pureed and a nice squeeze of lime is all just needed to make this yummy jam. You can make jam using any combination of fruits. Usually we use apples, berries that too strawberry is just perfect, bananas, orange, purple grapes green one will also do, papaya, pineapples etc., just combine whatever fruits you have got and make a healthy jam for your kids at home its just that simple. So here's your home made mixed fruit jam. Here I had made with what ever fruits I had with me at home.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Papaya  --   4 sliced prices
  2. Strawberries   --   14 medium sized
  3. Bananas ripe   --  2 I used small ilaychi bananas yellow one.
  4. Green grapes seedless --  10 No's
  5. Purple grapes seedless  --  10 No's
  6. Orange   --  2 remove seed  and chop roughly
  7. Sugar   --  1 1/2 cup
  8. 1/2 lemon juice

METHOD:
  • Wash and dry all the fruits and chop the fruits.
  • Now grind them into fine puree.
  • In a deep bottom kadai combine all the puree along with the sugar and in a low flame mix them periodically.
  • You should have a lot of patience and do not forget to stir the jam in between.
  • When the fruit mix start to thicken add 1/2 lemons juice and combine nicely.
  • Nearly after 40 mins your jam will start to gain its consistency.
  • Be conscious and check in between the consistency of the jam.
  • To check just take some jam mix using a ladle and when you drop the jam back in Kadai it should fall down all in once and not in drop form.
  • Next just put few drops of jam mix in a flat plate your jam should not spread it should remain just as it falls in plate.
  • Once done switch off the flame and let it cool just a little. And when it cools a little transfer the jam to a sterilized jar and use it as you required.
