Hey! its poha! speciality and all time favourite breakfast of maharashtrians and gujus. Now its there in my blog 'coz many South Indians are unfamiliar with this dish they do make poha upma but a little different. So lets share this version.

Ingredients:

  1. Soaked Poha / Rice Flakes  --  2 cups
  2. Onion  --  2 sliced
  3. Green Chilli  --  3-4 slit
  4. Tumeric Powder  --  1tsp
  5. Curry Leaves  --  few twigs
  6. Mustard Seeds  --  1 tsp
  7. Jeera / Cumin seeds --  1 tsp
  8. Peanuts  --  a handfull
  9. Dry Whole Red Chilli  --  2-3
  10. Grated Coconut (optional)  --  1/2 cup
  11. Lemon Juice  --  2 tsp
  12. Sugar  --  a pinch to balance the taste
  13. Corainder Leaves  --  few twigs
  14. Salt to taste.

Method:
  • Soak and drain the rice flakes in advance. Be careful not to soak in water for more time or it will form lumps. Drain the poha quickly and keep aside.
  • In a kadai heat oil crackle mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Peanuts and dry red chillies. Now add the curry leaves, sliced onions, slit green chilli and saute for couple of minutes.
